However, every individual tends to have their own definitions so these certainly are not definitive (excuse the pun). Also, it should be noted that the androgyne and genderqueer communities often use slightly different definitions of these words to the larger transgender community. As you can imagine, this often can cause arguments as two people use the same word to mean different things. Hence, please take these with a large pinch of salt and remember that what you mean when you us a certain word, may not be what the person your talking to understands you to mean. Also it should be noted that the absolute label to apply to someone's Gender Identity is that which they choose themselves. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender This is how someone perceives their Gender. It is intrinisic and far more important than their biological sex Whether someone is male, female or intersex (this is not the same as man, woman or androgyne - these are Gender Identities) These terms are often used to describe the traditional view of there being only two gender identities - man and woman, which are absolutely rigid Someone who's gender identity doesn't conform with the Gender Binary Someone who see's themselves as between or outside the Gender Binary This is often used as an alternative to Androgyne.
